Derringham ward – 25 October ‘Bring out your rubbish day’

On Saturday 25th October streets in West Hull’s Derringham ward will have a ‘bring out your rubbish day’.

Local councillors Eliza Mann and Cheryl Payne worked to get the ‘bring out your rubbish day’ after requests from residents in the area.

Cheryl said: “Eliza and I are pleased we’ve been able to help secure a ‘bring out your rubbish’ day for the area. We have had them in the past, and residents in the area have told us how much they appreciate them.

“People have said how it helps to be able to get rid of large items of rubbish from the home. We hope it will also help to stop fly-tipping in the area and keep the area clean and free from rubbish.”

On the 25th October, between 7.30am and noon a refuse collection vehicle will tour these streets taking part in the day. The following streets will be covered on the day:

  • Entire length of Hotham Road South from Willerby Road to Prior Road
  • Hotham Drive,
  • Hunsley Avenue
  • Coventry Road

Residents will be able to dispose of any unwanted household items or rubbish, e.g. fridges, black bags, sofas, chairs, tables etc. They will need to bring their rubbish to the refuse vehicle where one of the crews will be on hand to help dispose of it.

Assistance will be available to residents who are unable to take their rubbish to the vehicle, please ask one of our crews for information.
