Individuals or groups interested in renting space at the Avenues former Adult Education Centre on Park Avenue are being asked to make themselves known.
Expressions of interest in renting out space in the building will be used to make the case for the Centre to stay open.
The future of the Centre has been under question since Hull City Council’s Labour administration earmarked it for closure earlier in the year. It is expected that the Centre's future will be decided in November 2015.
The Avenues Centre Support Group is currently working with Hull City Council to try to ensure a sustainable future for the building which incorporates learning, wellbeing, and community uses.
Councillor Mike Ross said: “The Avenues Centre Support Group and residents are doing a great job fighting to keep the Centre open for use by the community.
“I know that there are many people who want to see the Centre stay open. If you are one of those people, and want to rent some space, please make yourself known.”
“The building really is at the heart of the Avenues and it would be a really shame to see it lost. The Lib Dems are keen to support those fighting to save the centre.”
