More roads in Beverley Ward are set to have a ‘Bring Out Your Rubbish Day’ on Saturday 18 October 2014.
Thanks to funding secured by Cllrs Dave McCobb and Karen Mathieson, all homes in Beverley Ward should benefit from a Bring Out Your Rubbish day between mid September and the end of the year.
Beverley ward’s Lib Dem councillors Dave McCobb and Karen Mathieson secured funding from the City Council for these events following requests from local residents.
The roads included in the event on 18 October will be Stanbury Avenue and Welwyn Park Avenue.
Dave said: “We have helped to get a number of these ‘Bring out your rubbish days’ put on over the last few years and they have been very popular each time. Residents regularly ask on the doorstep when the next one will be, and if they can have more of them.”
“They are a great way for residents to get rid of waste and especially unwanted bulky items such as carpets, furniture or white goods, and a large amount of what is taken away can be recycled.”
On the morning of Saturday 18 October 2014 a Council vehicle will be in the area with staff on hand to help residents get rid of unwanted household rubbish. Unfortunately residents will not be unable to get rid of large amounts of garden waste, building rubble, asbestos or oil.
Residents should have rubbish ready for disposal from 8am which they will need to bring to the vehicle at which point one of the crew will dispose of it. Assistance will be available to those unable to take their rubbish to the vehicle, please ask one of the Street-care team for information on the day.
“We will keep local people informed of future events as they’re coming up,” added Dave.
