Time to limit HMOs in streets around Holderness Road

Lib Dem councillors in the Holderness Road area are campaigning for more checks to be put in place, to limit the number of houses in our community converted into flats or houses of multiple occupancy (HMOs).

At the moment there are no restrictions on houses in our area being converted into HMOs. So, we're campaigning for a new 'Article 4' directive that would mean property owners needed to apply for proper permission before converting their property.

This change would help give residents in streets across our area a say when properties are changed to HMOs. HMOs have a big impact on issues like parking and congestion - there needs to be more control over them.

You can back the campaign to see all streets in our community - off Holderness Road, Newbridge Road and New Cleveland Street - included in the area covered by Article 4 to limit the number of HMOs, by clicking below.
