Council Tax Freeze Petition

Hull’s Lib Dem councillors are calling on the Labour administration to freeze Council Tax and help out hardworking people.

Last week Labour councillors included proposals to increase Council Tax by 1.95% in 2015-16.

The Lib Dems on the other hand do not believe an increase in Council Tax is necessary and want to help residents in Hull to make ends meet by freezing the Council tax bill.

At the Council’s budget meeting they will propose an alternative to Labour's budget which would freeze Council Tax.

The Lib Dems want the Council to take government funding available to avoid a rise. Labour councillors have refused to take the funding and have opted to increase Council tax.
