Back the campaign to keep Holderness Road Library and Customer Service Centre open...

Diana_at_Holderness_Road_CSC.jpgLib Dem team Diana Hatcher, Cllr Linda Chambers and Cllr Adam Williams are calling on Labour bosses at Hull City Council to keep Holderness Road Library and Customer Service Centre open.

Earlier this year the Council threatened to close Holderness Road Library but u-turned after a campaign from local people. They are still considering reducing opening hours - and are now looking at reducing the opening hours of the Customer Service Centre as well.

Campaigner Diana Hatcher said: "This library and customer service centre are vital services for hundreds of people in the Holderness Road area. Many people rely on it's services - to close them or reduce the opening hours would be a disaster."

Local councillor Adam Williams added: "The Labour leadership on Hull City Council promised to protect services like this, but all they're doing is putting them under threat. They claim they have to make savings - but managed to find £300,000 in August to buy an expensive office block in town when existing council offices all over the city lie empty."
