Campaigners hit out at Labour's library cuts

Campaigners for Hull's libraries have reacted angrily to plans that will see library services across the city reduced significantly.

A report going to the Council's cabinet this month recommends significant cuts to library opening hours. These include closing Central Library for two half days during the week and full day closures for libraries including Avenues, Fred Moore and Holderness Road.

Residents Let Down by Council's bin service over the New Year

Local Lib Dems are raising concerns with the Council about problems with bin collections over the Christmas and New Year period.

Many people did not have their brown bins collected on their rearranged day or the Saturday after the New Year bank holiday, and the Council are not arranging missed collections for people whose bins were not emptied unless residents themselves rang 300300 to arrange collection.
