Local campaigner Jurgita Kirtikliene has joined forces with Lib Dem Cllr Mike Ross to call for road safety improvements along Spring Bank. Despite a large number of residents raising their concerns with the Council, little has been done to improve safety on this busy road for pedestrians.
Jurgita and Mike are calling on the Council to improve pedestrian safety on Spring Bank and the surrounding streets. Residents in the area can back their calls by signing the online petition: www.libdemsinhull.org.uk/springbank
Commenting, local campaigner Jurgita Kirtikliene said:
"Spring Bank is used every day by people walking to work or taking their children to school. But it is obviously a busy road for cars too.
"The vast majority of drivers are considerate, but it can be scary to see cars jumping red lights and speeding around corners.
"We want to the Council to look at how Spring Bank can be made safer for all road users."
Cllr Mike Ross added:
"There have already been a number of serious incidents on Spring Bank and it’s time that the Council took action to make this road safer."
