Hull Lib Dems call for action to reverse school cuts

Hull Liberal Democrats are calling on the Government to reverse school cuts and to guarantee a pay rise for teachers in the city.

Between 2015 and 2019 schools in Hull lost out on £32.2m. This equates to a loss of £367 per pupil in the city. Sign the petition here.

Hull Lib Dems want these cuts to be reversed in full to tackle the growing pressures facing schools in the city.

In particular, we're calling for more support and funding to help children in Hull with special educational needs and disabilities.

Conservative Government cuts have seen schools in Hull lose out on £32.2m since 2015 – we’re demanding better for children and teachers in the city. More and more teachers are leaving the profession due to rising pressures and we need action to ensure that our teachers and school staff are properly supported.

The Conservative Government is letting down schools, letting down teachers and all those who work in them, and fundamentally letting down the children who rely on them.

Education is so important and we have to make sure that every child in Hull gets the support they need. That’s why we are specifically calling for additional funding to help children with special educational needs and disabilities.
