Hull City Council are meeting tomorrow to set Council Tax for the year – we have committed to opposing Labour's tax hike and reversing cuts to health services.
The Labour administration wants to raise Council Tax in Hull by 4.99%, only to leave millions sitting in the bank while making avoidable cuts to healthcare, including services for new mothers and vulnerable groups.
Everyone knows that times are tough for many people in Hull. Sadly, Labour want to raise Council Tax in Hull while making avoidable cuts to healthcare.
At the same time they plan to leave an extra £13million sitting unused in the bank.
We don’t think that this is good enough. Our Lib Dem proposal will reduce Labour’s Council Tax hike and will reverse the cuts to public health.
It’s time the Council listened to residents and started funding the services residents care about the most.
